Performing Arts Festival at Himley Hall
West Midlands Tae Kwon Do students flocked to Himley Hall on Saturday 3rd July 2010, to promote the Tae Kwon do classes held in Dudley, Hagley, Kidderminster, Bewdley, Bloxwich and Willenhall. Those who attended included Chelsey James, Claire Southall, Emily Haslam, Leanne Cullwick, Lisa Brown and of course Instructor Mr Vince Farquharson.
A wonderful day was had by all who attended the event mingling with a number of dance troops, music groups, charities and volunteers across the borough. Pupils handed out leaflets, and took the time to tell festival goers of the benefits to be had from tae kwon do. The public were genuinely interested as the students canvassed Himley Park and promoted the local clubs.
The sun stayed out as the dancers danced on and the students took time out to talk to charity worker: Ceri Davies who was raising money on the day for the Clic Sargent Appeal with her mascot Minty the Dog! The Children’s charity supports children with cancer and their families throughout their treatment whilst in hospital and at home. They give support to the children with their specialist facilities and work hard to help them every step of the way.
To make a donation to Clic Sargeant through Ceri please email: cezad107@msn.com and to read more about this charity go to: www.clicsargent.org.uk
West Midlands Tae kwon Do are looking for new members aged from 5+ upwards to join our clubs, adults and children of all abilities.
Whether you have tried a martial art before or would just like a new hobby, if you have time to spare come along to one of our classes.
This message was echoed across Himley Hall Park and after a long day campaigning students found time to relax and some went on the waltzers! I am just glad it didn’t rain as a soggy dobok is not appealing.
